An exhibition of Focal Point Gallery's series of printed matter 2009-2016
- 17 July to 2 October 2016
Focal Point Gallery is pleased to present ‘#75’, an exhibition showcasing the galleries series of printed matter since 2009. Whilst other institutions are no longer producing printed invitations, Focal Point Gallery’s projects are always accompanied by a unique printed artifact. Each individual item, including bags, books, t-shirts and bookmarks, is logged with a '#' number.
Drawing on the gallery's association with the town’s main library, and referencing the traditional seaside postcard, the series aims to convey a fragment of a project or commission to an distant satellite audience. Initiated by the previous director Andrew Hunt, the programme has been continued and built on by the current team.
A commissioned text by Dan Fox, co-editor of frieze magazine, accompanies this exhibition.
Produced in collaboration with Fraser Muggeridge Studio.
